In KIU-PA, we work with one single objective:
the search for self-awareness .

It is in Centros Etievan that the KIU-PA craftwork group is based

in Brazil - through the weavers of the Red Sea, a project that

provides a space for questioning to elders seeking

to understand the meaning of their lives .

Origin of the work

About fifty years ago, a group of people specially trained to undertake the study and transmission of rock art from ancient civilizations and ethnicities began in Venezuela, in the form of tapestry: the KIU-PA.

The Path

The term means The Path in the Timoto Cuica language, from the tribes that inhabited the Andean region of western Venezuela. The path followed by this craftwork carried out as a group unites the inner work of Being with the outer work of weaving . This is when the work of art begins to come to life.

The artwork

The artwork was inspired by the rock paintings of the Serra da Capivara National Park, in Piauí - an archaeological site recognized by UNESCO as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity . Each of these tapestries is a unique work, carried out collaboratively, in which each point is united, in form and attention , to the one who executes it at the moment.
